The Burnet C. & Mildred Finley Wohlford Professor of Biological Sciences at Stanford University, USA. For over 50 years, Marc has modelled and analysed data from evolutionary genetics and demography, publishing over 700 scientific articles.
Marc’s previous books include Mathematical Evolutionary Theory, Niche Construction: The Neglected Process in Evolution, and Cultural Transmission and Evolution, which founded the field of cultural evolution. Marc is an elected member of the National Academy of Sciences USA, and the recipient of both the Motoo Kimura award in human evolution and the Society for the Study of Evolution’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
